Shipbuilding History
For well over a century, Seaspan Shipyards have pioneered the shipbuilding and ship repair industries on Canada's West Coast. Our shipyards have a strong and rich heritage in providing state-of-the-art vessels for the Government of Canada, amongst many other customers. In fact, Vancouver Shipyards (incorporated in 1902) flourished during World War I by building crash boats, minesweepers, Fairmiles and supply ships.
