Full News Article (PDF)

North Vancouver, BC – As COVID-19 developments continue to unfold, our top priority is the health and well-being of all Seaspan employees, customers and community partners. We are closely following the guidance and direction of public health and government authorities. As far as we are aware, no Seaspan employee has tested positive for COVID-19 to date.

In the absence of a recommendation or directive to shut down operations in BC, Seaspan currently remains open and operational. We continue to actively monitor the situation. Like many companies, we are taking the recommended preventative measures to help protect our employees and help flatten the curve in the community.

These measures include: Self-isolation guidelines consistent with guidance from public health authorities; additional social distancing measures in the yards and offices; cancelling large public and company gatherings; providing employees access to medical advice; using remote working and technology tools; restricted travel; increased cleaning; additional employee support in cases of hardship; and frequent communication.

Seaspan is actively monitoring and responding to real-time developments, new information and new directives. The situation is rapidly evolving and fluid. We expect to adjust and escalate our actions as circumstances change.
