COVID-19 Cases at VSY and 50P

Team,

We continue to receive reported cases of COVID-19 in the shipyards and will communicate these to you with roundups as needed, summarizing reported cases that have workplace exposures.

Date Location Positive Test Results – Case Details Further Impacts

2021-09-07 Shared Services (50P) Employee last worked on Thursday, September 2, and is now isolating at home. No close contacts.
TOTAL cases to date across all 3 shipyards = 84
TOTAL cases to date at SMT = 15
TOTAL cases to date at Seaspan ULC/Shared Services = 8

As a reminder, we are conducting rapid tests every Tuesday and Thursday throughout September with groups of 50 employees each time, selected from trades, office employees and the Ops Centre. Thank you for participating in the tests. We have found positive cases through the testing, so this is an important safety precaution, particularly as the Delta variant, now the dominant strain in Canada, continues to circulate in our communities.

Please stay at home if you feel unwell. Continue to complete your self-assessments every day. Report any changes to your health, however minor. If you feel unwell, stay home. If you have any questions, contact our Wellness team immediately (wellness@seaspan.com; 604-990-3316).
