COVID-19 case at VSY Operations Centre

Team,

An employee at VSY Operations Centre has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual last worked on Thursday, February 11, 2021. Following a positive test result, they are now isolating at home and we wish them well in their recovery.

One co-worker has been identified as a potential close contact and Public Health has advised that they should remain at home, out of an abundance of caution. The areas occupied during the period of potential exposure have been fully cleaned and sanitized.

As we continue to report cases at Seaspan, it is worth stressing that in most instances, exposure to COVID-19 happens beyond our workplace and we bring COVID-19 to work with us. We must all continue to be aware of our physical distancing and mask wearing when we are near people outside of our household bubble – when we are at work, and especially during our down time. We can all do our part to keep Seaspan clear of COVID-19 by taking precautions in all our activities, both at work and at home.

Please remember to complete our self-assessments every day and state any changes to your health, however minor the symptoms may feel. If you are concerned or have any questions, please contact the dedicated hotline for the Wellness team (e: wellness@seaspan.com; t: 604-984-1313).
