Team,
Our rapid tests are continuing at VSY throughout September, and they are providing reassurance that anyone with COVID-19 can be alerted to this early on. In addition, arrangements have been made for employees who wish to take their first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Employees can either:
- At VSY — take the bus provided to the vaccination centre at 255 Lloyd Ave, North Vancouver, on Wednesday, September 22. The bus will depart from the turnstile area at 12.00 pm.
- At VSL — visit the Vaccine Van which will be on site on Thursday, September 23 from 12.00 pm to 4.00 pm at the South Jetty by the Section One Caisson Area.
There is no need for employees to register, however, they must inform their supervisor or manager in advance of their participation.
We continue to communicate any cases of COVID-19 in the shipyards to you with roundups summarizing reported cases that have workplace exposures:
Date | Location | Positive Test Results – Case Details | Further Impacts |
2021-09-16 | VSL (yard) | The employee last worked on Monday, September 13, and is now isolating at home. | One close contact. The employee is currently isolating at home.

We have been emphasizing throughout the pandemic the message to please stay at home if you feel unwell. Continue to complete your self-assessments every day. Report any changes to your health, however minor. If you feel unwell, stay home. If you have any questions, contact our Wellness team immediately ([email protected]; 604-990-3316).
