Callum Tio: Training a World-Class Workforce

“Shipbuilding right now is an exciting time on the West Coast. It’s a chance to rebuild the industry and there is so much opportunity for innovation.” Meet Callum Tio, Training and Development Supervisor for Vancouver Shipyards’ electrical department. Providing employees with high-quality learning experiences is an important aspect of our company culture and we know it makes for happier and more productive workers. Callum is tasked with the responsibility of providing the necessary training and preparedness for the incoming electrical workforce. By demonstrating the necessary standards and providing hands-on practical experience, he’s able to get them ready to execute on the shop floor. We spoke with Callum to learn more about why he’s passionate about shipbuilding.
