Paul joined Vancouver Shipyards as Director – Ship Construction in April 2014, and was appointed Vice President – Engineering in August 2015. He served as Senior Vice President & General Manager of Vancouver Shipyards (VSY) from March 2017 until April 2018 and was Vice President, Program Delivery for VSY when he assumed his current role of Vice President, Coast Guard Programs.
Prior to joining the company, Paul spent the majority of his career at BAE Systems in Melbourne, Australia, where he held various executive management roles. He has 25 years’ experience in the shipbuilding and heavy project construction industries, and has worked on a number of shipbuilding programs including the ANZAC Frigate, Air Warfare Destroyer and Landing Helicopter Dock Programs for the Australian Navy, as well as Project Protector for the Royal New Zealand Navy. Paul graduated with Honours from Monash University in Australia, where he obtained a Bachelor of Engineering. He later went on to complete an Advance Diploma in Project Management.
As Vice President, Coast Guard Programs, Paul is an integral member of and contributor to Seaspan’s Senior Leadership Team. He is also responsible for the execution and delivery of large, complex shipbuilding programs and accountable for the profit and loss performance of each project. In this role, he has full authority to manage and administer all facets of new construction programs and plays an important role in delivering on Seaspan’s commitments under the National Shipbuilding Strategy.
