Matt joined Seaspan in 2006 as Controller, Shipyards and was appointed to the role of Vice President, Finance – Seaspan Shipyards in September 2015. He has been a key contributor to the team, providing sound financial advice through the economic downturn, the National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy (NSPS) bid process, and major contract negotiations, including the Victoria In-Service Support Contract (VISSC), Frigate Life Extension (FELEX) and NSPS contracts.
Matt completed his Bachelor of Commerce Degree, specializing in Finance from UBC, and holds a Certified Professional Accountant – CMA designation.
As part of the Seaspan Shipyards senior management team, Matt is responsible for strategic financial oversight of the shipyard division and for driving profitability and financial performance of all three shipyards. Matt is also accountable for the financial controls and efficient processes to support both government and commercial business.
