John joined Seaspan Shipyards (Seaspan) as Chief Program Officer (CPO) in July, 2018. To this role, he brings more than 30 years extensive experience in surface combatant and offshore vessel construction for American and International shipyards.
As Seaspan’s CPO John is a key part of Seaspan’s Senior Leadership Team and reports directly to the CEO. In this role John is responsible for all new construction programs at Seaspan as part of the National Shipbuilding Strategy. In addition to his program management duties, John is responsible for the Planning and Estimating functions at Seaspan as well as managing the development and execution of Seaspan’s Transformation Plan at the Shipyards.
Immediately prior to joining Seaspan, John was President of an independent ship construction consultancy with experience working for US and International clients in Canada, Australia and Taiwan. Before that, he spent nearly three decades at General Dynamics – Bath Iron Works Corporation, ending his service there as Vice President, Planning and Information Technology.
He holds a Masters of Business Administration from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts in Government, cum laude, from Bowdoin College. In addition, he has completed Bath Iron Works Management Development Program.
