Kyle Washington, Seaspan’s Executive Chairman, Mark Lamarre, CEO, Seaspan Shipyards and Ian McIver, President, Seaspan Marine Transportation, were recently on hand to officially open Lions Gate Hospital’s Seaspan HUB — a high-tech mission control centre that allows hospital staff to better plan, organize and manage patient care and services.
The HUB was established through funding received by Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) from a $2.65 million gift from Seaspan North Vancouver and the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation, which was announced in May 2021.
The HUB will enable LGH to improve access to services for patients across the North Shore, the Sea-to-Sky communities of Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton. Their reach also extends to the Sunshine Coast communities of Sechelt, Powell River and the rural communities of Bella Bella and Bella Coola.
Julia Dickson, Coastal Care Coordinator at LGH explains in this video how the HUB operates, and the improvement in care and services the centre will now enable staff to offer to patients.
