Delivering excellence — it’s our North Star.
We’re building Canadaʼs future one vessel at a time — faster, and more efficiently with each launch. From the Canadian Coast Guardʼs Offshore Oceanographic Science Vessel currently preparing for sea trials, to the recently launched Joint Support Ship HMCS Protecteur (with construction of a second support ship well underway) to the Polar Icebreaker poised to begin building — we’re transforming Canadaʼs maritime capacity.

Delivering vital supply. Answering critical demands.
The supply ship HMCS Protecteur the longest naval vessel ever built in Canada. At 174 meters and 20,000 tons, this vital ship enables the Navy to operate independently in high-threat environments around the world, delivering fuel, ammunition, food, supplies, exercise facilities, medical and dental care wherever, wherever they’re needed.

Delivering breakthroughs.
When the request came to make Canada’s Polar Icebreaker capable of working year ’round in one of the most challenging places on Earth, we were up to the task. And now, so is the Icebreaker. It’s been upgraded to serve in the high Arctic for 12 months a year, with its lowest operating temp now down to a numbing -50 C — a considerable drop from the original -35 C spec. We like to think no matter how demanding things get, we’re able to stay flexible.

Delivering a stronger Canada.
With these upgrades, Canada can assert its presence in the high Arctic like never before. This ship—custom-built to support the Coast Guard and strengthen our nation’s security and scientific strength— will be a seachange for Canada and our shipbuilding industry.
Delivering Arctic-sized capability.
The icebreaker’s mission includes a year ‘round, high and sub-Arctic presence with demands as wide-ranging as the Arctic itself: icebreaking and security for Canadian waters, support and supply for other vessels and Northern communities, scientific research, search & rescue, and more.

Delivering more than ships.
These vessels represent more than just finely crafted steel and smart design; theyʼre a commitment to Canadaʼs presence in the Arctic and beyond.
At Seaspan we’re delivering, delivering, building, and building. We’re seeing a pattern. And it’s only getting clearer.
