Melanie Bradley

General Counsel – Seaspan Shipyards

Melanie was appointed General Counsel at Seaspan Shipyards in December 2019, bringing more than 15 years of senior legal experience in industrial environments to the role.

Prior to joining Seaspan, Melanie was a partner in the Securities and Capital Markets Group at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, where she focused her practice on the mining, transportation, technology and media and entertainment sectors. As partner, she advised public and private companies on a variety of matters, including financings (mergers, acquisitions, takeover bids and reorganizations), mining joint ventures, derivatives documentation and regulatory compliance. Melanie was an Adjunct Professor at The University of British Columbia Law Faculty. Prior to practicing law, Melanie worked as a costumer in film, television and theatre.

Melanie holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from University of Illinois and a Law degree from UBC and is a published author in several legal publications.

As General Counsel, Melanie supports Seaspan and the senior leadership team by providing Vancouver Shipyards, Victoria Shipyards and Vancouver Drydock with legal and strategic advice.
