Seaspan Recognized for Environmental Stewardship by Vancouver Fraser Port Authority

2017 recipient: Blue Circle AwardNorth Vancouver, BC – Seaspan was recognized as a recipient of the Blue Circle Award at an Awards Ceremony in Vancouver last night, presented by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority (VFPA). The Blue Circle Award recognizes marine carriers that excel in environmental stewardship and attain the highest participation rates in the Vancouver Port Authority’s EcoAction Program.

Over the past year, Seaspan has implemented several environmental initiatives, including a strategic partnership with VFPA to monitor underwater vessel noise, an integrated waste reduction plan in its Shipyards, and the introduction of the company’s first dual-fueled hybrid ferries.

The Blue Circle Award recognizes companies that go beyond the basic environmental requirements. Seaspan is proud to support the Port of Vancouver’s overall vision to be the world’s most sustainable port.
