Construction of a new 47" MLB (Motor Lifeboat) for the Canadian Coast Guard. Victoria Shipyards has built 29 SAR lifeboats for Canada in the last 10 years.

See the two halves of the brand new Marine Petrobulk 5.2 million litre double hull oil barge come together and then launch at Vancouver Shipyards facilities in North Vancouver, BC on April 6, 2009.

Island Princess Docking at Victoria Shipyards
Victoria Shipyards docks the massive cruiseship, Island Princess, at the Esquimalt Graving Dock. The Island Princess is 952ft long and 11,3000 grt with a crew of 1240. The cruise ship has the capability of carrying 2600 passengers. The Island Princess was at Victoria Shipyards for a major upgrade and refit. 500 plus workers supported by well over 1000 subcontractors worked around the clock over 17 days to accomplish all the work and return the vessel in time for its next scheduled sailing.
