Seaspan’s Marine and Shipyard divisions have been certified under the Green Marine program since 2011. Green Marine is an environmental certification program for the North American marine industry. It is a voluntary, transparent and inclusive initiative that addresses key environmental issues through its 11 performance indicators, eight of which are applicable to Seaspan’s operations.

To receive their certification, participants must benchmark their annual environmental performance through the program’s extensive self-evaluation guides, have their results verified by an accredited external auditor, and publically report the performance levels.
