Chief Financial Officer – Seaspan Marine Transportation

Tom joined Seaspan Marine as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in October 2017, bringing with him over 25 years’ experience in finance and accounting and a proven track record of excellence, including leading the financial function of public companies with revenues in excess of $1 Billion, as well as significant private equity-backed enterprises.

Most recently, Tom worked for Targeted Microwave Solutions Inc., where he re-structured the former public company and oversaw the start-up of a new public company on the TSX-V, raising $20M equity and debt, establishing operations in Virginia, and research and development facilities in Washington DC.

In addition, Tom worked for Taiga Building Products Ltd., holding various senior level positions including Director of Corporate Planning, CFO, and Vice President – Finance, Administration and I.T.  At Taiga, Tom executed a significant strategic re-alignment program and successful financial restructuring. Tom has also held positions at NorskeCanada (now Catalyst Paper) and Teck Corporation.

Tom graduated from BCIT’s Financial Management program. Shortly after, he became a Certified Management Accountant of British Columbia.

As CFO of Seaspan Marine, Tom is primarily responsible for driving continuous improvement across the organization. Specifically, he plays an instrumental role in strategic finance and business planning and analysis activities.
